Schalke 04 are one of the teams chasing powerhouses like Bayern, Dortmund and Hertha for a coveted Champions League spot. IMOTGP reported earlier how they and fellow pretender Bayer Leverkusen are in Florida not just spending time on the beach, but also playing some football.
The focus on basketball has apparently hurt the Royal Blues since they were crushed 3-0 by Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro. In front of 2,504 diehard fans, Schalke fell behind in the eighth minute, missed a penalty and were then promptly blown out of sight.
